Circulation And Computer Lab Manager / Staff Associate
Founded in 1873, Massachusetts College of Art and Design (MassArt), is the nation's first and only independent, free-standing public college of art and design in the country. The Circulation and Computer Lab Manager performs all circulation desk functions in the library as well as supporting and maintaining the computer lab located within the library.
Essential Job Duties
- Performs all circulation functions (charging / discharging materials, receipt of fines, processing overdue notices, patron record updates) and provides other front-line desk service.
- Provides reference assistance and assists patrons in locating resources.
- Opens the library as scheduled, ensuring compliance with facilities procedures and timely service to patrons.
- Assists Public Services Team with training part-time student employees in Public Services areas. Assists Access Services Librarian with patron database support.
- Provides computer lab technical assistance to patrons and instruction in use of hardware (such as scanners and printers) and software (such as Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office programs).
- Trains other staff in assisting patrons with use of the computer lab.
- Installs, maintains, and performs troubleshooting for computer lab equipment and software and acts as liaison to the college department in charge of Technology.
- Creates and makes available documentation and training materials for using equipment and software in computer lab.
- Collects statistical data for public services operations.
- Collaborates on policy / procedure drafting and refining.
- Identifies and maintains general computer lab equipment and software as well as specialized equipment and software for patrons with disabilities. Trains patrons in use.
- Supports Access Services Librarian in creating and maintaining alternative texts.
- Acts as a liaison to the Academic Resource Center to coordinate college best practices for helping students.
- As part of the library public services team, participates in library planning and decision making.
- Works on special projects as established during library strategic planning and performs other duties as assigned.
- Assists with digital asset management projects in other divisions of the library (i.e. visual resources, archives)
- Serves as primary back-up for other public services support functions and secondary back-up for other library operations. Provide primary backup support for systems.

Requirements
Qualifications Required :
Education : Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience.Experience : Minimum of one year experience working in a library, preferably in an academic setting. Supervisory experience.Skills : Familiarity with library resources (EBSCO Discovery), online library systems (such as FOLIO).Qualifications Desired :
