Golden Gate Veterinary Specialists - Surgery Department, part of AOSN, is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician to join our team. We are a veterinary practice staffed by two highly experienced, board-certified surgeons specializing in small animal procedures. Our facility is equipped with advanced imaging technology, including a state-of-the-art computed tomography (CT) scanner and high-resolution digital X-ray equipment, enabling detailed diagnostic assessments. Additionally, we perform a wide range of specialized procedures such as minimally invasive laparoscopic surgeries, arthroscopic joint evaluations, complex orthopedic repairs, and soft-tissue surgical interventions, all aimed at providing comprehensive and personalized care for our patients and clients.

Requirements :
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (including but not limited to) :
Preferred experience with endotracheal intubation and anesthesia administration, demonstrating proficiency in airway management and sedation protocolsMust be friendly, outgoing, and genuinely personable to foster a welcoming environment for clients and patientsExcellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with clients, team members, and veterinariansCapable of multiple roles including duties such as greeting clients, managing surgical appointments, and handling phone inquiriesProficiency in computer skills, including familiarity with veterinary practice management software (Ezyvet), electronic health records, and Microsoft Office SuiteMust be a collaborative team player willing to learn emerging techniques, adopt new treatments, and adapt to procedural changesMedical Related Skills :
Skilled in phlebotomy, with the ability to draw blood accurately and safelyExperienced in IV catheter placement and maintenanceProficient in anesthetic induction techniques and monitoring anesthetic depth throughout surgical or diagnostic proceduresAssisting veterinarians during surgeriesApplying bandages, splints, and wound dressingsKnowledgeable in wound care, infection control, and postoperative patient managementAble to advise pet owners on proper care, medication administration, and post-procedure instructions.Duties (including but not limited to) :
Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills with clients and pets, ensuring positive interactions in waiting areas and exam roomsConsistently aim to exceed client / patient expectations through compassionate and attentive serviceProvide compassionate nursing care as the primary focus for all patientsPerform maintenance duties to uphold clinic cleanliness and safety standardsEffectively communicate findings and concerns to veterinarians for appropriate actionMaintain accurate and detailed medical and administrative recordsFill prescriptions and dispense medications accurately as prescribed by the veterinarianEducation and Physical Requirements :
College or equivalent education as required in becoming a Registered Veterinary TechnicianDependable attendance and punctuality are mandatoryAbility to lift and carry up to 40 pounds safelyOvertime hours / days if indicated (surgical procedure may be longer than anticipated)Physical ability to walk, bend, stand, squat, and reach continuously during a 10-hour shiftBenefits :
