Job Description

Launch your Java career to new heights! Our client is seeking a top-tier Lead Java Engineer to design and deploy cutting-edge microservices and APIs powering Customer Data solutions. You'll join a dynamic team building vital mid-layer services across the organization and with external partners, and we need your expertise in Java 8+, cloud technologies, containerization, data streaming, and Agile methodologies.

Job Duties -

Be an active participant in all scrum ceremonies and lead in the delivery of the strategic roadmap.
Help define project scope & specifications, and estimate resources required to develop the proposed solution.
Ensure that specifications and requirements are clearly articulated to the development teams and monitor timelines & progress.
Propose technical solutions.
Delivery of well-designed, high-quality, fully functional, properly tested features, fixes, and enhancements.
Responsible for the full application development lifecycle and support.
Define and document best practices and strategies regarding application deployment and infrastructure maintenance.
Support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and new technologies and presenting these for architectural review.
Troubleshooting and debugging to optimize performance.
Provide subject matter expertise and direction, guidance, and support on complex engagements. "

Job Requirements -

7+ years experience with Java 8+

5+ years experience with Spring Boot

4+ years experience with Containers (Docker and orchestration, ie : Kubernetes or EKS)

4+ years experience with Azure or AWS

Strong understanding of microservices and HTTP / REST

4+ years experience with test automation (jbehave, cucumber, selenium, junit)

4+ years experience in an Agile / Scrum team (backlog refinement, standups, code reviews, JIRA or ADO etc.)

2+ years in lead roles

Desired Skills & Experience -

Streaming / messaging : Kafka, NATS, Kinesis, or Event Hub are strongly desired

Datadog or New Relic a plus

Elastic Search a plus

Apigee a plus
