General Surgeon Opportunity Southside Regional Medical Center Petersburg, VA

Southside Regional Medical Center is actively seeking a General Surgeon to join our well-established surgical practice in Petersburg, Virginia, just 30 minutes south of Richmond.

What We're Looking For :

  • Board-certified / eligible General Surgeon
  • 5+ years of experience preferred
  • Strong skills in general surgery : hernia, gallbladder, abdominal surgeries
  • Experience or interest in colon cancer, anorectal disease, and colonoscopy is a plus
  • Bariatric experience or willingness to cover bariatric call highly preferred

What You Can Expect :

  • Full-time schedule : Monday Friday, 8am 5pm
  • Up to 7 call days / month (24hr shifts)
  • Mix of clinical, ER support, inpatient consults, and occasional primary call
  • Average 20 patients / day
  • Adult and geriatric patient base from primary care, ER, and inpatient referrals
