Accounting Specialist LHH Recruitment Solutions is working with a company in North Phoenix who is in need of an accounting specialist/staff accountant to join their team for the next 12 months. This job is Monday-Friday fully onsite. The hourly rate is up to 30/hr DOE.
This role will support the accounting team with daily financial operations, including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, and account reconciliations. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting foundation, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a structured environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger in accordance with GAAP
- Maintain and reconcile GL accounts, investigating and resolving discrepancies
- Assist with month-end and year-end close activities
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data within the GL
- Maintain organized and accurate accounting records
- Support internal and external audits as needed
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure proper financial reporting
- Perform additional accounting duties and special projects as assigned
Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required)
- Prior experience in an accounting or finance role preferred
- Hands-on experience with general ledger accounting, journal entries, and account reconciliations
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems
