Physician Assistant-Radiology

Requirements

• Graduate from an Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) Program or equivalent as approved by the New York State Education Department.
• New York State Licensed Physician Assistant
• Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistant
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS).
• New York State mandated Infection Control Course certificate
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Job Description

The Physician Assistant will perform interventional radiologic diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in accordance with New York regulations and hospital policies. Other duties include history & physicals, plan of care, evaluation & management, as well as assisting interventional radiologists in complex procedures. Obtains informed consent from patients in accordance with hospital policy. Follows-up on in-patients and outpatients after the procedure. Evaluates requests for Interventional Radiology procedures and presents to Interventional Radiologists. Performs procedures under the direction of the Interventional Radiologist. Participates in Quality Assessment activities.
