2026 Stinson LLP & Mortenson TCDIP 1L Summer Clerkship Minneapolis

Twin Cities Diversity in Practice (TCDIP) is a collaboration of law firms and corporate law departments seeking to enhance the diversity of the legal profession. Stinson LLP and Mortenson are proud to be members of Twin Cities Diversity in Practice and to partner to host a 1L Summer Clerk. First-year law students have a unique summer clerkship opportunity that combines a traditional law firm clerkship with experience working for an in-house corporate law department. For more information on Stinsons Summer Program visit and Mortenson are pleased to offer a TCDIP Clerkship position for a current 1L law student. Based in Minneapolis MN the Clerk will be an employee of Stinson and split the 10-week summer program between the firm and Mortensons legal department. The successful candidate will be offered meaningful opportunities to work on legal-related assignments and to learn about Stinson Mortenson and the Minneapolis legal community as a whole.

Stinsons Summer Associate salary is $3653 per week. Summer Associates are not eligible for benefits as this is a temporary position. Stinson hires 1L Summer Associates with the hope that after the successful completion of their 1L summer they will re-join us for their following 2L summer.

Qualifications :

• 1L student attending an ABA-accredited school
• Demonstrated commitment to advancing diversity equity and inclusion
• Strong academic record as an undergraduate graduate (if applicable) and law school student
• Effective legal writing skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Outstanding interpersonal skills
• Community involvement
• Work experience
• Interest in areas of the law that match the firms practice areas
• Commitment to practicing law in Minneapolis Minnesota
