Responsibilities:
Conduct pioneering research to enhance language models, Natural Language Understanding (NLU), Natural Language Generation (NLG), question answering, and information extraction, particularly focusing on AR/VR applications.
Design and implement comprehensive experiments, including programming, evaluation, and detailed analysis of results.
Work closely with diverse teams of researchers, engineers, and product managers within RLR and Meta to drive impactful outcomes.
Contribute to scientific publications and promote internal knowledge sharing, alongside involvement in open-source projects.
Support the identification and definition of research goals that align with the Surreal team's product and technology vision.
Engage in mentoring and knowledge transfer within the research team to foster growth and innovation.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
Proficiency in developing and experimenting with deep learning models or data pipelines.
Capacity to independently define and carry out research projects effectively.
Proven track record of delivering substantive research results.
Advanced degree (Master's or PhD preferred) in Computer Science, Computational Linguistics, or related fields.
Experience with NLP, large language models, or significant AI research.
Familiarity with the research publication process is advantageous.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in cross-functional teams that include product, engineering, and research professionals.
Hands-on experience with building text-to-video generative models, image-to-video generative models, video understanding models, or unified native video generative models.
Compensation:
$154,000/year to $217,000/year plus bonus, equity, and benefits.
