Job Summary:
A leading agricultural facility in Everett, PA, is seeking a skilled Farm Manager to oversee daily operations across multiple departments, including Production, Animal Husbandry, Maintenance/Construction, Landscaping, and Crop Management. The ideal candidate will bring a strategic and hands-on approach to managing farm functions, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, optimizing operational efficiency, and maintaining a high standard of animal welfare and facility integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Oversight
- Direct and coordinate all day-to-day farm activities across departments.
- Ensure operations meet regulatory, quality, and animal welfare standards.
Personnel Management
- Supervise and schedule farm staff across multiple disciplines.
- Train team members, provide performance feedback, and foster interdepartmental collaboration.
Financial Management
- Manage budgets for all farm-related activities.
- Monitor operational costs, track revenue, and recommend strategies to improve cost-effectiveness and profitability.
- Assist with strategic planning and capital improvement initiatives.
Record Keeping & Data Management
- Maintain accurate records for animal care, crop yields, equipment maintenance, and production activities.
- Input data into management systems to meet internal and regulatory compliance.
- Generate operational reports for performance and audit purposes.
Facility & Equipment Management
- Oversee the safety, maintenance, and compliance of all buildings, infrastructure, and farm equipment.
- Coordinate construction projects, repairs, and upgrades as needed.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with SOPs and relevant regulatory guidelines (e.g., USDA, AAALAC).
- Monitor and maintain documentation to meet quality and traceability standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Animal Science, Business Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 5 years of farm or agricultural management experience, ideally in a production or regulated setting.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Strong project management and budgeting experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with agricultural or production management software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Practical knowledge of livestock care, crop production, and equipment maintenance is preferred.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time, on-site role based in Everett, PA.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required based on operational demands.
