The EHS Lead for North America is responsible for ensuring full compliance with EHS regulations. This role works in close partnership with the Global EHS Head and GT Solutions leadership to shape and execute the Zero Harm strategy and drive continuous improvement across business operations in the Americas.
This position combines strategic oversight with hands-on leadership, fostering a proactive EHS culture, promoting health and safety awareness, and upholding the highest standards of environmental protection. By implementing robust EHS frameworks aligned with Siemens Energy and Business Area objectives, you will enable operational excellence and enhance customer satisfaction.
As a key leader, you will ensure regulatory compliance, engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders, and guide your team toward safe, resilient, and sustainable project delivery.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Provide leadership, guidance, and expert EHS support to the Business Area management teams across North America.Champion the Zero Harm culture, ensuring full compliance with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and OSHA standards, while driving continuous improvement of the EHS Management System to meet corporate and legal requirements.Engage employees at all levels to promote proactive risk management through clear communication and effective coaching.Establish regular liaison with customers, suppliers, authorities, regulators, the global EHS team and maintain close collaboration with GT stakeholders, project managers, and site managers.Ensure accurate EHS input for bids and tenders and secure appropriate staffing for projects. Provide regular EHS reports to management to ensure transparency and informed decision-making.Investigate and document all incidents, define corrective measures, oversee implementation, and monitor effectiveness. Promote best practice sharing and capture lessons learned.What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business management, operations management, or a related field, combined with relevant professional experience.Proven leadership experience in EHS or related functions within industrial or construction environments.Relevant certifications in safety and environmental protection (, OSHA, NEBOSH, ISO Lead Auditor).Strong expertise in incident investigation, root cause analysis, and risk management, with hands-on experience in large-scale, international, or cross-functional projects and teams.Excellent communication and influencing skills across all organizational levels.Willingness to travel approximately 30–40%.Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.
