Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level IV NICU position requiring advanced neonatal critical care skills and telemetry competency.
Responsibilities
Work in a 26-bed Level IV NICU within a comprehensive pediatric medical centerDay / evening 12-hour shifts (7 : 00am-7 : 30pm) with 4 shifts per weekRequired to work 2-3 weekends per 6-week schedulePatient population includes critically ill newborns and infants with post-op, g-tube, and trach / vent management needsInvolves care for infants requiring complex diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, including various modes of ventilationTravelers are the first to float and may be assigned to multiple units or locations based on staffing needsDeliver advanced neonatal care for infants with extensive medical and surgical needs from admission to dischargeTeam-oriented work environment focused on patient- and family-centered careMandatory pre-employment pass / fail telemetry testing with strict criteriaInitial orientation scheduled according to department and typically lasts one weekFirst-time travelers may be accepted for some unitsHoliday coverage required as scheduledScrub requirements and parking procedures to be confirmed upon assignmentRequirements
Active WI or compact RN license in hand at the time of considerationCurrent BLS, PALS (American Heart Association only), and NRP certifications requiredAt least two years of acute care nursing experience, plus a minimum of one year in a Level IV NICU or qualifying Level III NICU experienceEpic EMR experience required, preferably within the last 12 monthsBasic arrhythmia and telemetry proficiency required; must pass a telemetry exam prior to startingPermanent residence must be at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not acceptedBenefits
