Responsibilities
include:
·Providing timely review, assessment, and recommendation of release requests to ORR to ensure release of UAC to a sponsor promptly once it is determined that the sponsor is able to provide for the child's safety and well-being.
·Assisting ORR in ensuring children are placed in the least restrictive setting while ensuring safety and minimizing flight risk of the UAC.
·Meeting with individual UAC in instances when there are identified safety concerns and care provide staff at designated ORR-funded care provider sites.
·Providing targeted child welfare-based assistance to care provider staff, as directed by ORR staff.
·Providing written assessments, and when necessary, reviewing or providing technical assistance to the written assessments of the care provider's case managers and clinicians.
·In collaboration with the care provider and ORR, make recommendations for home study and post-release services for at-risk children.
·In collaboration with the care provider and ORR, make placement recommendations, including for children who require more specialized levels of care, such as long-term foster care, residential treatment centers, and secure care.
·Collaborating and working on any other tasks specific to case coordination as per ORR/DUCO policy and procedures.
·Leading case staffing with care providers to discuss individual cases and progress.
·Meeting with designated ORR staff to provide updates of individual UAC cases and elevate complex cases as needed.
·Able to travel to designated client sites about 25% during each month.
Here's what you need:
·Public Trust. The successful candidate will need to undergo a Tier 2 Public Trust investigation
·Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or Social Sciences
·Bilingual- English and Spanish. Fluency will be confirmed and documented
·5+ years of Social Work experience
·Demonstrated analytical skills
·General PC knowledge, including Microsoft Office
·This is a hybrid position located in the Corpus Christi, Texas area. Candidates must reside within a reasonable commuting distance for the occasional requirement to travel to assigned shelter locations in the San Antonio region.
Bonus points if you have:
·Master’s degree in social work
·Experience working with immigrant youth and families
·Experience in juvenile justice
