About The Position
Job Title : Emergency Department Registered Nurse

Experience : Minimum of 2 years of Level I Trauma experience preferred; will consider candidates with 1.5 years.
License : New Mexico license may be pending at the time of submission.
Certifications : ACLS, BLS, NIH, PALS, TNCC (must have TNCC before submission).
Must-Have : COVID vaccination required; religious and medical exemptions accepted.
Description :
No RQI certifications accepted.
Travel experience is strongly preferred; however, candidates with 2+ years of Level I Trauma experience may be considered.
Approximately 60%-80% of the Emergency Department is admitted, and many of the ED rooms are designated for holding.
The nurse will be responsible for medication administration, including IV medication via the seven medication rights.
Documentation and communication of clinical findings are essential.
The patient ratio in the Emergency Department is 1 : 5.
Travelers may be scheduled for weekends as needed.
Floating to pediatric emergency departments is optional; floating to adult progressive care units is expected based on staffing needs.
Candidates must have experience in trauma and resuscitation.
Bar code medication scanning is mandatory for all employees.
The daily census in the department ranges from 170 to 200 patients.
There are 68 staffed beds and 53 rooms available for patient care.
Interdisciplinary support includes respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, pharmacy, and transportation.
This role requires working closely with adult patients, many of whom are experiencing severe trauma.
Candidates are expected to effectively manage arterial lines, administer blood products, and provide continuous IV sedation when necessary.
Trained nursing staff will be expected to support specialty areas such as trauma and triage.
Compliance documentation must be completed within the designated timeline.
Requests for time off must be communicated effectively, especially near holidays.
Travelers cannot request time off during the first 7 days or the last day of the contract.
Personal transportation is required.
The position necessitates flexibility and the ability to adapt to the demands of a fast-paced environment.
