Senior Applications Developer (UI & Web Services)

Minimum Requirements :

• 8+ years hands-on experience in Front End / UI development on JEE application platforms.
• 8+ years server-side / web services development on JEE platforms.
• 8+ years experience implementing SPAs, including 4+ years using Angular TypeScript framework.
• 8+ years experience implementing web services, including 4+ years with RESTful services security (JWT, OAuth).
• 8+ years experience with JEE Application Server, authentication / authorization, caching strategies.
• 8+ years programming experience in Java, JEE, REST / SOAP, HTML5, JavaScript, JQuery, AJAX, CSS3, Bootstrap, SASS, Typescript, Spring, JSP, Struts, JSON, XML, JWT, Maven, OpenAPI v3, OAuth.
• 8+ years experience implementing responsive client-facing applications.
• 8+ years experience integrating web services into Angular or React SPAs.
• 8+ years experience implementing applications using JSP and Struts.
• 8+ years experience developing reusable, testable modules and components.
• 8+ years experience applying best practices in application design, performance, scalability, and maintainability.

Preferred Experience :

• 3+ years experience with JBoss or IBM WebSphere Application Server (version 8 or later).
• 3+ years experience with Agile methodologies (preferably Scrum).
• 2+ years experience developing for mobile and tablet platforms.

Summary :

• We are seeking a Senior Application Developer to plan, develop, test, and document computer programs, applying advanced knowledge of programming techniques and computer systems.
• This role involves evaluating user requests for new or modified programs, determining feasibility, cost, and time requirements, and ensuring compatibility with current systems.
• The developer will work on front-end development using modern responsive technologies, convert SOAP-based services to RESTful services, and develop new RESTful web services within a JBoss EAP environment.
• A high degree of creativity, independence, and leadership is expected.

Responsibilities :

• Plan, design, develop, test, and deploy application components using structured analysis, object-oriented development, and contemporary methodologies.
• Perform UI and Web Services development for HHSC IT applications using Angular and JEE technologies.
• Convert SOAP-based services to RESTful services and develop new RESTful web services.
• Participate in requirements analysis, design sessions, coding, testing, and deployment.
• Create technical and design documentation as required.
• Perform system analysis, troubleshooting, and problem resolution.
• Analyze software for configuration and performance tuning opportunities.
• Develop and maintain data and process models.
• Employ contemporary testing methods to ensure application reliability.
• Provide technical support for testing and implementation efforts.
• Support defect repair, maintenance, and production operations for web-based Java applications.
• Collaborate with other teams to accomplish project goals.
