Surgical Technology Student - PRN

We are seeking a Surgical Technology Student, PRN to play a supportive role in ensuring the meticulous preparation of surgical instrumentation, including thorough decontamination, inspection, and preparation for terminal sterilization. This role executes various sterilization methods such as Autoclave, GI, and soak sterilization, proficiently cleans and sterilizes flexible scopes and efficiently verifies biological testing outcomes. Additionally, this role assists the OR team members with room turnovers, monitors and reports temperatures and humidity in the OR rooms, and collaborates with other team members to complete the daily schedule. Administrative responsibilities include monitoring and restocking inventory, using software and computers provided, identifying opportunities for quality improvement, participating in meetings and committees and maintaining certifications. This role performs effectively in emergencies, applies their knowledge of aseptic techniques and infection control policies and procedures, and excels in their communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

PRN - pick up shifts as you are available while attending Surgical Technology school!

Monday - Fridays. NO NIGHTS. NO WEEKENDS. NO HOLIDAYS.

This position is located at 910 E 20th Street, Sioux Falls, SD.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Must be actively enrolled in an accredited Surgical Technology program. First and second year Surgical Technology students are encouraged to apply!
• BLS certification is required; can be obtained upon hire.
• Sterilization Processing Room experience and education is helpful.
• IHACSMM certification preferred.
