- Turnaround Execution Coordinator II (Shutdown Coordinator) Location : Midland, TX – Hwy 80 (Building B) Schedule : 5 / 2 – 40 hours / week Compensation : $60–$70 / hr Travel / Vehicle : Agency-provided ½-ton truck or personal vehicle allowance Position Overview The Turnaround Execution Coordinator II (Shutdown Coordinator) plays a key role in the planning, coordination, and successful execution of facility shutdowns.
- This position ensures alignment between Operations, Maintenance, Projects, and leadership throughout all phases of shutdown preparation, execution, and post-event evaluation.
- The Coordinator will help ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality shutdown performance while mentoring less experienced shutdown coordinators.
- Key Responsibilities Shutdown Planning & Coordination Provide early design input to Global Projects for brownfield expansion efforts to reduce downtime and incorporate O&M learnings.
Once the Shutdown Plan is finalized (scope, sequencing, isolation philosophy), coordinate with multifunctional planning teams to deliver :
Lean Thinking scope reviews Integrated schedules Checkpoint Summary Deliverables (Checkpoint 1, Checkpoint 2, Go / No-Go packages) Supporting plans including Communication, Emergency Response, Contingency, Staffing, and Contractor Summaries Pre-work planning including materials readiness and initial activities Detailed isolation plans Execution plans and work permits Finalization of Management of Change (MOC) documentation Steward progress of integrated plan activities through Go / No-Go decision points.Facilitate senior leadership reviews for checkpoints and post-shutdown lookback analysis.Shutdown Mentorship & Continuous Improvement Mentor less experienced Shutdown Coordinators to build organizational capability and ensure consistent shutdown management.Support the development and refinement of integrated shutdown scheduling tools (Primavera, MS Project, etc.).Provide feedback and recommendations on enhancements such as :
Shutdown execution KPIs Advanced planning techniques Crash planning processes for unplanned shutdown events Required Skills & Qualifications Strong background coordinating complex facility shutdowns / turnarounds Demonstrated experience working cross-functionally with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and Projects Ability to facilitate and lead structured planning processes and milestone reviews Strong communication skills with the ability to interface at all organizational levels, including senior leadership Proficient in scheduling and planning tools (Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, etc.) Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities Local candidates only (no relocation, no per diem) Powered by JazzHR
