Title: Mechanical Drafter – Gas Transmission Drafting
Location: Detroit, MI (Reporting to the Company Headquarters Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday Work hours 7:00 am to 3:30 pm Lunch: 30 mins.)
Duration: 12+ Months

Job Summary

• Provide quality CAD drafting support for legacy as-built project utilizing AutoCAD 2024, working under the guidance of a Contract Mechanical Designer and/or Transmission Drafting Supervisor.

Key Accountabilities

• Create new, or edit existing, 2D CAD drawings.
• Create or update materials lists, as necessary.
• Adhere to company filing system, CAD, and Drafting Standards along with company drafting techniques.
• Attend project meetings when requested.
• Field visits to take digital photographs and measurements.
• Perform self-check of work and other required documentation.

Experience Requirements

Minimum of 4 years of mechanical piping experience including familiarity with the following:

• Welded, flanged, and threaded process piping assemblies and installation.
• Strong understanding of plan & section views, details, and material lists.

Other Requirements

• General understanding of Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
• General understanding of isometric and schematic drawings.
• Basic knowledge of the use of reference files, raster images and block libraries within CAD software.
• General understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel software programs.
• Must be able to interpret and/or prepare field sketches and photographs.
• Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
• Must possess a valid Michigan driver’s license
• Must reside in the state of Michigan – (Metro Detroit area preferred)
• Reliable internet service
