Job Summary
This position is responsible for providing care and treatment to patients according to physician orders and departmental policies. As a Registered Respiratory Therapist, you will work independently in acute and critical care settings, collaborating with physicians and healthcare teams to make informed treatment recommendations. Your expertise will be needed across all age groups including infants, children, adults, and the elderly.

Accountabilities
Supervisory / Management Responsibility
This position does not involve management responsibilities and will report to relevant supervisory personnel.
Minimum Requirements
Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program approved by the American Medical Association or eligibility for licensure in South Carolina.
Required Certifications / Registrations / Licenses
Must possess a South Carolina Respiratory Care Practitioner license or be eligible for licensure. BLS certification is required. NBRC credentials must be maintained. Certified Respiratory Therapists hired before June 2016 are eligible for their current certification. New hires post-June 2016 must obtain Registered Therapist qualifications within the stipulated timeframe.
NRP and PALS certifications are needed for independent work in NICU and PICU in the Children's Hospital.
Other Required Skills and Experience
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills are essential.
