Job Title : Azure Administrator (Former Windows System Administrator)

Location :  Onsite - Santa Ana, CA

Duration :  Long Term Contract (2+ Years) (Immediate Requirement)

Job Overview :

We are actively seeking an experienced Azure Administrator who has evolved from a Windows System Administration background. This role requires hands-on expertise in both Windows and Azure environments, with strong knowledge of Active Directory, networking, and cloud technologies. The ideal candidate is local to Santa Ana, CA, and able to work onsite from the client office.

Key Responsibilities :

Administer and manage Windows Server infrastructure (AD, DNS, DHCP, domains, forests).

Implement and troubleshoot Azure cloud environments, including ARM templates, Resource Groups, NSGs, VPN gateways, and tagging.

Manage Azure Active Directory, O365 connectors, and Tenant configurations.

Configure and support Intune for device and policy management.

Ensure secure authentication mechanisms using NTLM, Kerberos, Certificate Authority, and SAML SSO.

Understand and apply basic networking concepts : VLANs, segmentation, firewalls, and Privileged Access Management.

Perform basic SQL Server administration tasks.

Must-Have Technical Skills :

Windows Administration : AD, Forest creation / integration, DNS / DHCP

Azure Administration : Deploying and managing resources

Azure AD & Intune Configuration

O365 Administration (basic connector setup)

Security & Authentication protocols

Networking Fundamentals

SQL (basic level)

Required Experience in One or More of the Following Scenarios :

1. Active Directory Forest Trust with Entra Connect Sync

Establishing bidirectional trust between two AD forests

Synchronizing both forests to a single Entra tenant

Supporting cross-forest authentication for Entra / AD-integrated applications

Requires strong knowledge of TCP / IP domain controller connectivity

2. Synchronizing Both Forests via a Single Entra Connect Server

No forest trust required

Sync objects from multiple forests to one tenant

Enable Entra app authentication; restrict AD app access across forests

3. Entra Connect Cloud Sync for Secondary Forests (Nice to Have)

Lightweight agent-based sync for secondary forests

Ideal for hybrid and geographically distributed environments

Preferred Candidate Profile :

Minimum 5-7 years of hands-on experience in Windows System Administration and Azure

Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

Willingness to learn, grow, and adapt in a fast-paced IT environment

Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
