Senior Accountant

A company is looking for an Accountant III to manage complex accounting activities and provide guidance to less-experienced staff.

Key Responsibilities

Evaluate and update accounting policies and procedures based on business changes

Prepare complex accounting analyses, journal entries, and financial statements

Enhance internal controls over financial reporting and provide functional advice to junior accountants

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in business with at least 3 accounting courses and 5 years of accounting experience, or a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting with 3-5 years of related experience

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel and Word

Preferred : Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, MBA, or other advanced business degree

Preferred : CPA or CMA certification

Experience in utility accounting, public accounting, and SEC reporting, with knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
