About The Position

Job Title : Radiologic Technologist

Profession : Radiologic Technologist

Shift : Mon-Fri third shift, likely 6 : 00 PM - 6 : 30 AM, one weekend per month 6 : 00 PM - 6 : 30 AM

Hours per Shift : 36.00

Experience : Minimum 1 year in a hospital setting

License : Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT)

Certifications : BLS, ARRT (CT) certification or registry-eligible

Must-Have :

• Associates degree in Applied Science in Radiology
• Peripheral IV insertion experience or willingness to obtain training
• Strong people skills and communication

Description :

Under general supervision, specializes in the performance of computerized tomographic radiological procedures on patients.

May perform general diagnostic radiology examinations.

Explains examination procedures to patients and prepares them for the examination.

Reviews clinical data on requisition and performs appropriate examination.

Obtains additional information about patient medical history as necessary.

Prepares procedure room and regularly replenishes stock such as linen and related supplies.

Analyzes anatomical structure of patient, sets up equipment, and performs the CT scan.

Manually controls the equipment to obtain the proper diagnostic information from the area of the body being studied.

Administers intravenous contrast media and utilizes power injectors.

Monitors patients for possible reactions as appropriate to the study and provides immediate care if a reaction occurs.

May prepare and set up sterile equipment, monitors, and supplies required for the procedure.

Ensures adequate supplies are on hand and properly stored.

Assists Radiologist in performing complex sterile diagnostic procedures such as biopsies.

Performs all imaging procedures while demonstrating principles of radiation protection.

Resolves image exceptions and ensures high-quality image delivery into PACS.

Completes all study indexing, including study begin, end, and completion in the Radiology Information System.

Reviews and confirms clinical protocols with Radiologist before performing a study.

Demonstrates consistent teamwork and standards of excellence, including communication and respect.

Performs all documentation in the medical record and within the radiology information system to support clinical and billing functions.

May work in a fixed unit or in an ambulatory mobile unit.

May be exposed to radiation if proper precautions are not utilized.

May be exposed to potentially contagious patients.

Occasionally may lift and / or move equipment and / or patients over 10 lbs.
