The Database Administrator plays a critical role in ensuring the stability, security, and performance of the organizations database systems. This position is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing databases that support Baylor Genetics mission of delivering cutting-edge genetic testing services. The role requires curiosity, attention to detail, technical expertise, and the ability to collaborate with technologists and business stakeholders at all levels. Our database systems leverage a wide range of technologies, making this an ideal opportunity for someone who loves to learn, teach, and continuously improve infrastructure to drive organizational success.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE :

• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience as a Database Administrator in enterprise-scale environments.
• Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline.
• Strong working knowledge of modern database best practices.
• Experience with multiple database architectures and technologies (e.g., SQL, MySQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL).
• Proven ability to design, diagram, and present high-level and detailed database architectures.
• Experience collaborating closely with development, infrastructure, and management teams.
• Familiarity with highly virtualized public and private cloud environments.
• Strong documentation skills, including the ability to produce clear diagrams and technical guides.
• Self-management skills with a continuous improvement mindset.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering value in a fast-paced environment.
