Our client is a fast-growing technology company building next-generation security and privacy solutions. They are seeking a highly skilled Backend Services Engineer to join their engineering team onsite in Chicago. This role is hands-on and focused on designing and implementing core backend systems critical to their platform.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain backend services that support the companys security and privacy architecture.
  • Re-architect the existing licensing engine and packaging workflows into scalable, production-ready services.
  • Work closely with security, infrastructure, and product teams to deliver efficient, reliable backend solutions.
  • Contribute to the technical design and direction of backend projects from concept through deployment.
  • Continuously improve system performance, reliability, and code quality.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of backend development experience.
  • Strong programming skills in C and Go (Golang).
  • Experience with distributed systems, algorithms, and core computing fundamentals.
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • Ability to work full-time onsite in Chicago.

  • Experience with security- or privacy-focused systems.
  • Linux systems knowledge and scripting experience.
  • Understanding of cryptographic principles or secure development practices.
  • Familiarity with PHP or Laravel.
