General Surgery opening - Norton, VA Located 45m to KingsportJ1 / H1 Eligible

  • General bread & butter surgery experience and advanced laparoscopic skills required. Minimally invasive skills a plus

  • 129-bed facility, one of 22 facilities the Medical Group
  • The draw area serves a population of 75,000 to 100,000 which includes southwestern Virginia and southeastern Kentucky.
  • There is a local 10-physician primary care network to supply patient referrals.
  • This expansive service area of Southwest Virginia and Southeastern Kentucky holds huge potential.
  • Goal is to find a general surgeon who shares the same philosophy as the Medical Group in being able to accommodate patients at home and not transfer them out of the area for their care.
  • The hospital has expressed a large amount of flexibility to fit the needs of the new physician.
  • If board-eligible, board certification must be completed within five years of completion of residency for all candidates.

  • The facility recently invested $12 million surgery project with four, state-of-the-art operating rooms.
  • A $16.5 million dollar renovation project that included the ER, Cardio-pulmonary services, radiology equipment, diagnostic technology, EPIC EMR and a new Main and Emergency entrance was also recently completed.
  • As the largest healthcare facility in the coalfield region, Hospital provides a wide of services through highly trained physicians and support staff.
  • Supports a wide range of health care services including surgery, OB / GYN, pulmonary and critical care, rehabilitation services and much more.
