The Director leads the day-to-day operations of the Office of Wellness Coordination and Intervention within the Office of Education Affairs. The Director will partner with key stakeholders to plan, strategize, leverage current resources, and implement programs and services to promote wellness and enhance resilience among Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) students and trainees. The duties of the Director do not include providing mental health treatment. However, clinical expertise, crisis intervention expertise, awareness of current treatment modalities, and maintaining current ethics, licensure, and continuing education requirements are necessary to perform the role's duties.
The ideal candidate has a collaborative and supportive leadership style that promotes workplace wellness for team members and Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) learners and employees. Has experience working in higher education and/or relevant medical/mental health settings where the population is high-achieving. Has experience working with interdisciplinary teams and academic offices, e.g., health care providers, Title IX, and academic deans. Has extensive work with the experiences of diverse communities. Has experience with quantitative and qualitative assessments (e.g., Well-Being Index). Also, has experience developing and running mental health/wellness/support programs. Experience with strategic planning and budgeting. Has experience with reporting and strategic communications, crisis assessment and intervention. Additionally, has experience working in settings where adherence to ethical guidelines and policies about confidential information is a part of the day-to-day work. Also, experience in successfully working in a complex, fast-paced environment. Lastly will be an accomplished and effective communicator and have superior written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills and proven ability to work with diverse constituencies, can embody BCM’s Values: integrity, respect, teamwork, innovation, and excellence and is can be dedicated to fostering a culture of wellness, compassion, and meaningful work.
This is a hybrid position and will work onsite and have eligiblity to telecommute.
