We are seeking a dependable and safety-conscious Materials Handler & Motor Vehicle Operator to support daily warehouse inventory mail center and transportation operations. This role performs a wide range of duties including driving material handling deliveries receiving staging and maintaining accurate inventory and documentation in support of government operations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented organized physically capable and committed to maintaining a high standard of quality safety and customer service.
Key Responsibilities :
Mail & Material Handling
- Palletize outbound mail (13 layers of trays) shrink wrap securely and load up to 10 pallets onto a box truck for USPS delivery.
- Sort meter strap and prepare mail according to established requirements.
- Maintain high-quality control standards for all mail and materials handled.
- Protect and safeguard Personally Identifiable Information (PII) at all times.
Warehouse Operations
Receive store and issue materials following agency regulations and First-In First-Out (FIFO) practices.Conduct monthly inventory counts and submit inventory sheets invoices and samples to leadership.Pull stage and prepare materials required for production operations.Operate manual / power pallet jacks pallet lifters pallet wrappers flatbeds dollies carts and bins.Maintain a clean safe and organized warehouse environment (sweeping mopping retaping layout disposing scrap materials staging empty pallets).Vehicle Operation & Maintenance
Safely drive government vehicles including box trucks for regional deliveries and supply pickups.Fuel and maintain vehicles; ensure tanks do not fall below full.Conduct operator-level maintenance and report technical issues or preventive needs.During cold weather ensure vehicles are started and plugged in as required.Refill windshield washer fluid and DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid) for the box truck.Remove snow from vehicles and loading docks when necessary.Documentation & Reporting
Prepare daily shift pass down logs summarizing work status and issues.Report quality schedule or production concerns to leadership.Submit weekly reports summarizing production rates maintenance performed and key updates.Screen shipping / receiving documents for discrepancies and route shipments accordingly.Customer Service & Communication
Provide courteous and professional service to internal and external customers.Maintain strong communication with leadership staff and other departments.Assist with coordinating USPS supply pickups and stock refills.Qualifications :
Valid and continuously retained Class C (or equivalent) drivers license.Ability to safely operate pallet jacks and material-handling equipment.Ability to lift and transport materials and pallets as required.Key Skills
