Position Summary
The Sinclair Computer Science Department is currently seeking a part-time (adjunct) faculty to teach face-to-face for day, evening, and weekend courses at our downtown Dayton campus, Courseview campus in Mason, Ohio and Centerville campus.
The starting pay for Adjunct Faculty is $1,016 per credit hour assigned to teach.

Principal Accountabilities
Plan and organize instruction in ways which maximize student learningPrepare, distribute and submit syllabi for all assigned sections in accordance with department and divisional policiesEmploy appropriate teaching and learning strategies, use available instructional technology when appropriateModify, where appropriate, instructional methods and strategies to meet diverse students' needsSupport classroom and online efforts to promote student successEvaluate and return student work in a timely manner to promote learningMaintain accurate records of student progressSubmit final grade rosters according to established deadlinesMaintain confidentiality of student informationCannot exceed maximum of 12 credit hours per semesterRequirements
Minimum of a bachelor's degree in computer science is required, OR an associate's degree in the content, and five years professional experience as a software programmer, database developer or related fieldSkills in computer programming with a variety of languages, database design and development, and application development requiredEvidence of successful prior teaching experience preferredDemonstrated commitment to improving student learning through innovative strategies shown to help students succeed at the course and program level, including ability to teach in a student-centered active learning model requiredEffective communication and interpersonal skills, and the capacity to work successfully in a culturally diverse college community requiredMust possess demonstrated skills in using modern educational technology, including multimedia-based instructionOfficial transcripts for all post-secondary degrees (if applicable) and successful completion of a background check will be required prior to date of hire.
