Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) position requiring open shift availability and strong ICU skills.
Responsibilities
Work in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit in a hospital settingCare for a diverse PICU population including respiratory, sepsis, and neuro patientsMust float to other ICUs and floors as needed, including between campusesOpen availability for day and night 12-hour shifts; night / weekend shifts are preferredEvery other weekend coverage requiredNo on-call responsibilitiesUtilizes Epic EMR for documentationExperience with ventilator management, titration of pressors, and management of central and arterial lines requiredResponsible for complete patient assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in the PICUExpected to coordinate and delegate care within an interdisciplinary teamPhysical demands include lifting, carrying, frequent standing, and navigating busy environmentsMust be able to transport patients with ventilators and handle heavy equipmentBasic understanding of congenital heart disease is beneficialCandidates with a positive attitude and excellent communication skills preferredPermanent staff must be separated from any Intermountain facility for at least one year to be eligibleFirst-time travelers will not be considered for this assignmentScrub requirements not specifiedRequirements
Active UT or Compact RN license required at time of considerationBLS (AHA) and PALS (AHA) certifications required and must not expire prior to startASN or Nursing diploma required; BSN preferredA minimum of 3-5 years recent PICU experience requiredAt least 1 year of travel nursing experience requiredAbility to manage ventilator-dependent patients and use IV pumpsExperience titrating medications, including pressors, and working with central and arterial lines is requiredMust be comfortable floating to any ICU or floor as necessaryEpic EMR experience requiredBenefits
