Please note that the work location can be anywhere in Canada (remote working out of your home office). Toronto, Ontario is the location of our head office.

What is the role?

We are looking for a payroll rockstar! The candidate must be PCP certified.

The role requires the candidate to manage multiple clients simultaneously in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.

You'll be using online payroll software and apps and working closely with our clients to ensure that their payroll is delivered seamlessly. It is imperative that the following duties are handled diligently :

  • Running payroll in a timely manner, making changes to payroll (adding / removing employees, adding / removing deductions, etc.), handling the T4 process, and submitting ROE forms, amongst other payroll duties
  • Answering inquiries from clients related to payroll and payable matters, providing recommendations and problem-solving; analyzing data
  • Processing end-to-end payroll for multiple clients with different pay frequencies
  • EHT, WCB filings for multiple provinces
  • Reviewing CRA accounts and responding to notices
  • Correspondence with clients and the bookkeeping team to ensure timely service and a hands-off experience

    • Required Experience

  • PCP certified
  • At least three years of payroll experience in a fast-paced environment for a company or companies with multiple employees
  • Intimate understanding of the Canadian payroll process, including but not limited to withholding taxes, source deductions, other deductions, benefits, ROE forms, T4 slips, and more
  • Experience processing payroll in multiple provinces (QC an asset)

  • Tech-savvy

    • Other Skills and Requirements

  • A love for technology and the ability to learn new software / apps quickly
  • Strong internet connection - at least 6MBPS upload and 6MBPS download speeds
  • Knowledge of Wagepoint Payroll Software, Xero Accounting Software, Receipt Bank, and Hubdoc is an asset (not a requirement)
