Responsibilities

• Under the direction of a licensed nurse, the Certified Medicine Aide administers medications and medicated creams within the standards of practice as permitted by their Certification and per state regulations.
• Prepare and administer routine and PRN medications to patients as prescribed by the physician and document administration per policy.
• Maintain medication supply, clean and restock medicine carts and medicine room.
• Notify pharmacy of new medication orders and refills.
• Perform accurate vital sign monitoring when indicated by drug therapy.
