Job Title : Environmental Engagement Events Coordinator

Location : 2 T.W. Alexander Drive Research Triangle Park NC 27709

(RTP Site personnel are on site Tue-Wed-Thurs. Center staff must be on site for Center events that occur on Monday or Friday. Monday and Friday can be remote work for this role after 60 days.)

Schedule : 8 : 30 AM to 5 : 00 PM; Lunch Time : 30 Minutes

Total Reg Hours : 40.00

Qualifications : Education

  • Bachelors degree required in agriculture sustainability environmental science education communications or related field.

Experience

  • Ability to engage and influence a wide variety of audiences and stakeholders on complex topics.
  • Demonstrate strength in coordinating internal and external events.
  • Project management and leadership skills.
  • Strength in scientific communication.
  • Experience in hospitality.
  • Experience generating persuasive and impactful content.
  • Previous experience with large meetings and audio-visual setups is a plus.

    • Knowledge / Skills

  • Strong networking skills.
  • Experience hosting groups of people for events and / or through educational programming.
  • Proven track record in delivering results by working with cross-functional teams.
  • MUST HAVE Excellent written and verbal communication skills including public speaking across various audiences.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing environment with competing priorities.
  • Ability to work autonomously given some initial direction.
  • Ability to generate support from others and work well within diverse teams.
  • Comfort troubleshooting technical software and equipment.
  • Familiarity with MS Outlook PowerPoint Word Excel. MS Teams PowerBI SharePoint MS Forms and / or PowerAutomate is a plus.
  • Ability to communicate in multiple languages is a plus Spanish and German preferred and will be a strong plus.

    Responsibilities :

  • Organize coordinate and / or host Center visits / events tailored to a variety of partners internal guests community leaders educators and students (grade 8 through graduate school) on the importance of agriculture and sustainability.
  • Support ideation and create / co-develop content for programming in support of Client goals and the Centers mission.
  • Represent Client and the Center responsibly managing stakeholder relations with a focus on positive customer experiences includes public speaking and presenting content to guests on a regular basis.
  • Maintain well-organized Center and Site Tour calendars.
  • Maintain content for the Center and Tours on Client Intranet pages and the Centers Internet site.
  • Maintain datasets and automated record keeping to efficiently track progress on key metrics.
  • Lead and / or Organize Client site / campus tours for a variety of internal and external guests.
  • Support maintenance of a large pollinator garden and additional vegetable garden beds. Experience with gardening is a plus.
