Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an Occupational Therapist for an adult inpatient acute care hospital, with oncology and stem cell unit experience, requiring at least 1 year of clinical practice.
Responsibilities
Position based in a hospital setting with a mix of adult acute care and outpatient services within the hospitalDay shift, Monday through Friday, working 5x8 hour shifts from 8 : 00 to 16 : 30No weekend, call, or float requirementsFocus on oncology patients, including those in a stem cell unitAverage caseload of 6 patients per dayUses EPIC for documentationResponsibilities include home exercise program planning, adaptive equipment assessment, ongoing patient evaluation, and care plan reassessmentPreferred experience in cognitive assessment, prosthetics, soft tissue injuries, hip fracture and total hip replacement, arthritis management, ultrasound, electrical stimulation modalities, myofascial release, lymphedema management, kinesiotaping, edema massage, and wheelchair evaluationTwo-week unit orientation (80 hours) provided at startWine-colored scrubs required but not provided by the hospitalFirst-time travelers are accepted for this positionRequirements
Current state Occupational Therapy license required (pending license accepted if application submitted)BLS and NBCOT certifications requiredMinimum 1 year of experience as an Occupational Therapist requiredClinical experience in a hospital setting required for new graduatesExperience with upper extremity therapy, adaptive equipment, community re-entry, home assessment, pre-discharge planning, lifting and transfer, patient / family education, safety and injury prevention, and discharge planningBenefits
