Must be a licensed Journeyman Electrician. Must possess and maintain a valid Kansas driver's license and city insurable driving record. Please review the Insurability Guidelines. Must obtain an Electrical Inspector Certification within 18 months of the date of hire. Additional licenses or certifications may be required. Job Opportunity : Electrical Inspector
The City of Topeka is seeking a licensed Journeyman Electrician to join its Planning and Development Services team as an Electrical Inspector. This is an entry level inspection position that is responsible for conducting inspections, verifying compliance with Municipal Building Codes and related ordinances, and supporting safe electrical practices. This position works Monday through Friday from 8 : 00 AM 5 : 00 PM.
What you'll do :
- Inspect residential and commercial buildings during and after construction
- Identify and document violations and unsafe conditions
- Issue notices and orders for corrective actions
- Write reports detailing inspection findings

Entry rate of pay : $21.22 per hour
