Linux System Administrator
The Linux System Administrator is responsible for providing technical support and troubleshooting for a range of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and other Linux distribution-based systems, ensuring compliance with DoD 8570.01-M standards. The role involves operating and maintaining end point, server and other Linux based systems under the supervision of senior administrators. This position is in a mixed operating system environment so you will be expected to operate and maintain some aspects of Windows based and Audio Visual (AV) systems, but Windows and AV administration may not be your primary responsibilities.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Must be United States citizen and possess a final Top Secret (TS) security clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).Must live within a practical commuting distance to regular duty location or willing to relocate at your own expense.5-7 years of experience in system administration or a related IT field.Ability to work on feet for extended periods of time.Ability to lift and move IT rack equipment alone or in a team setting.Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.Ability to effectively work independently and function in a team environment.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and work calmly under pressure.Must be certified at the IAT II level or higher per DoD 8570.01-M.Demonstrated experience in Linux-based system administration and cybersecurity (RHEL preferred).Strong knowledge of DoD security policies and procedures.Ability to work collaboratively with various cybersecurity and IT personnel.Excellent problem-solving and incident response skills.Knowledge in Red Hat Enterprise Linux Operating System, Linux server administration, virtualization maintenance to include type-1 hypervisor deployment and administration is required.Windows Operating System, Windows Active Directory, Windows Group Policy, Windows server administration a plus.Preferred Skill Core System Expertise :
Linux Administration : Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) Bash Shell, Identity Management (IDM server), Satellite, Ansible, Ubuntu, CentOS and other Linux distributions.Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) : Operate and maintain VMware based infrastructure, vCenter, and ESXi systems. Operate and maintain Dell VxRail.Backup Solutions : Practical experience with monitoring, verifying, and troubleshooting enterprise backup platforms, particularly those used in server environments like the Avamar Backup Solution.Windows Operating System familiarity : Windows 10, Windows 11, Windows Server 2019 and newer, Windows Active Directory, Windows Group Policy, permissions, Network File Shares a plus.Security & Compliance Integration : Linux (RHEL) Security Hardening : Practical experience implementing specific DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and other hardening guides on Windows endpoints and servers to ensure compliance. Patch Management : Experience with enterprise-level patch management tools and methods common to Linux distributions and VDI appliances.
