Job Description
General Purpose of Job :
Create a safe, movement oriented, educational, and enjoyable atmosphere for all MAC summer camp participants; including organization and implementation of daily activities.
Essential Duties
- Supervise children during camp including in swimming pool and pool side supervision
- Insure safety and well-being of each child
- Interact with children
- Design and implement daily activity lessons
- Attend pre-camp and ongoing trainings
- Set up and take down of equipment for activities
- Clean up after all activities
- Keep camp room, equipment closets and all other areas in an orderly manner
- Communicate effectively with parents as needed regarding campers
- Communicate with Youth and Family Programs Supervisor daily
- Complete group attendance sheets including sign-in and sign-out of every camper
- Dress in a professional manner within the dress code policy
- Serve as a role model for every camper
- Participate in all camp activities and help with planning and coordinating activities with other camp counselors
- Responsible for daily lunch count and communication to restaurant
- Serves as a role model for consistent demonstration of Sparrow Health System's Customer Service Behavioral Standards of Performance, by respecting the Privacy and Confidentiality of those we serve.
- Demonstrates knowledge and respects patient, service provider, organizational confidentiality and HIPAA Security procedures and protocols as defined under the HIPAA Privacy and Security Procedures.
- Follows established HIPAA privacy procedures when using and / or disclosing protected health information.
- Maintains and protects patients' rights under the HIPAA Privacy Standards.

Job Requirements
General Requirements
CPR certified within first 6 months of employmentAdditional clear background check through Central Registry, if 21 years or older.Work Experience
6 months previous experience working with youthEducation
High School Diploma or GEDCollege education in elementary education preferredExperience creating and implementing activity / lesson plans preferredSpecialized Knowledge and Skills
