Machine Operator

Job Summary: Set up, operate, or tend to one or more than one type of machinery. Take directives from the supervisor on what work orders to perform. Responsible for operating machinery safely and efficiently during the production of goods. Ensure the material used is for the appropriate machine and the correct item is made.

Essential Functions:

• Understand and comply with all company safety policies and procedures and utilize all necessary safety equipment
• Understand and comply with the company’s Quality Management System (ISO 9001:2008)
• Help meet daily production goals to manufacture product
• Be aware of machine capabilities for production of goods
• Ensure machine is calibrated to perform the task at hand
• Ensure proper directions are followed to operate machine
• Ensure that the work area is clean and neat
• Help assure overall cleanliness and safety of work area
• Perform work in other departments when needed
• Learn to operate new machine/equipment when needed
• Perform all other activities as requested by management

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

• High school diploma/GED
• Knowledge of various machine operations preferred
• Experience in a manufacturing environment and production preferred

Working Conditions:

• Prolonged periods of standing and/or seating and performing repetitive tasks
• Heavy lifting up to 60 pounds

Salary:

• $17.00/hr and up based on experience
