Assembly Technician

Assemble a variety of components into assemblies per instructions and blueprint drawings; inspect completed work.

• Build and assemble components utilizing assembly procedures, blueprints, and written engineering instructions.
• Adhere to proper specifications for subassemblies and assemblies by using inspection equipment (OD and ID micrometers, height gages, dial calipers, etc.), and reading blueprints.
• Develop detailed assembly instructions for tasks performed.
• Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified.
• Rework and / or repair assembled product according to engineering instructions.
• Serve as backup to other members of the department.
• Serve as a member of the QC Team, supporting coworkers and offering ideas for improvement.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness of the work area.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience or formal training as a machinist and / or inspector.
• Experience in understanding engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of standard measuring tools.

Strong mechanical aptitude with an understanding of the technical aspects of the job.
