Candidates who are first-time travelers will not be accepted. The patient population includes adults to geriatrics. This unit primarily serves post-surgical patients, including orthopedic, urology, colorectal, bariatrics, neurology, and general surgery patients. The unit has a capacity of 42 beds, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1 : 6. Candidates must be proficient in isolation precautions, management of peripheral lines, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, and use of rapid response and code teams. Floating to other units may be required. If a major holiday falls within the assignment period, the candidate is expected to work it. If two major holidays occur, the candidate must work both. If three major holidays occur, the candidate should be available to work two of them. Major holidays include New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Eve. Full compliance is required to start on time. Candidates must submit all necessary documents in a timely manner to ensure an on-time start.
