JOB TITLE : Associate Clinical Director (member of Operational Leadership Team)

POSITION GRADE : 84

DEPARTMENT / PROGRAM : Tuckahoe Community Residence (Williamson Location)

SUPERVISOR : Clinical Director of Behavioral Health Residential, School, & LHTC

FLSA : Exempt

SALARY RANGE : $65,000-$80,000 (commensurate with education, licensure / certification, and experience)

JOB SUMMARY :

Under the general direction of the Clinical Director of Behavioral Health Residential, School, & LHTC, the Associate Clinical Director is responsible for leading and managing regulatory compliance, risk management, staff development, milieu treatment, and program budget in the Tuckahoe Community Residence. The Director is responsible for developing, implementing, and sustaining plans, systems, adequate staffing, policies, and processes to optimize the program’s financial stability and positive impact on lives served. This position requires a true strategic and collaborative business partner with other program leaders as well as support department leaders to maximize access for clients to these services, and additionally other related services they may enroll in at Villa of Hope (Clinic, Health Homes / Care Management, etc.). The Director operates the program in alignment with Value Based Payment principles, including regulatory compliance, risk management, staff development, and program budgets. Externally, this position represents Tuckahoe CR and the Agency in the community and with regional and statewide licensing bodies and coalitions. This position carries out all responsibilities with fidelity and accountability to the Agency’s Mission, Vision, Sanctuary Commitments, and Strategic Plan.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

  • Cultivates the desired organizational culture of integrated Sanctuary Model and DEI&B in all aspects of essential functions and performance of duties.
  • Exercises full compliance with Agency code of conduct, all Agency policies and procedures and Federal & State laws and regulations. Maintains regulatory compliance with all applicable agencies (OMH, IOC, CMS, MHLS, COA, etc.).
  • Manages and assures program compliance with Medicaid billing processes and overall Corporate Compliance processes.
  • Directs and participates in the cleanliness and upkeep of the residence, reports needed repairs to the Facility Operations.
  • Participates in department treatment team meetings weekly and administrative and community meetings.
  • Reviews and signs off on all treatment plans, treatment plan reviews, and case conferences presented at treatment team meetings.
  • Maintains confidentiality and security for all client and staff related materials and / or records.
  • Practices, models, and coaches Cornell’s Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI).
  • Maintains a climate that attracts, maintains, and motivates a diverse group of high quality staff and volunteers. Recognizes and rewards staff and volunteers. Assures appropriate management responsiveness to employee concerns.
  • Recruits, screens, hires, trains, supervises, & retains high quality residential staff.
  • Shares on-call responsibilities as part of the on-call system.
  • Reviews, approves, and monitors bed utilization and occupancy, including referrals, admissions, discharges, and billing compliance requirements for full reimbursement of services rendered.
  • Oversees therapeutic groups as well as recreation and leisure time activities.
  • Coordinates and approves staff schedules, time-cards, and time off requests
  • Supervises Youth Care Professionals to maintain for each client the daily log and all applicable documentation for program operations.
  • Supervises clinical staff and other duties as needed.
  • Provides supervision, direction, coaching, mentoring and opportunities for professional development of direct reports and assures the same for the staff.
  • Delegates and assigns work efficiently to residential direct care staff, student interns, and program volunteers, delegating appropriate levels of autonomy while maintaining adequate supervision and support.
  • Assures necessary staffing levels at all times and accurate records of time worked by residential direct care staff.
  • Develops, implements, and reviews / revises quality improvement initiatives in alignment with regulations and agency strategic plan.
  • Reviews and trends all program incident reports from a supervisory risk management perspective, and designs and carries out plans to reduce risk for both youth and staff in the program.
  • Develops relationships with each client to promote healthy growth and development.
  • Plans, develops, and implements a consistent and predictable daily routine and schedule of activities for the program that is youth guided.
  • In partnership with the Clinical Director of Behavioral Health Residential, School, & LHTC,designs, implements, and monitors program budget on an ongoing basis.
  • Communicates and Collaborates with other departments to provide high quality interdisciplinary treatment for youth and families.
  • Maintains a visible presence among program youth, families, staff, interdisciplinary team members, and agency departments.
  • Represents the program & agency with community stakeholders.
  • Supervises bachelor level student interns, developing them as potential Youth Care Professional candidates.
  • Performs all duties of a residential direct care staff as needed.

POSITION SPECIFICS : Education :

  • MSW, MHC, MFT, CAT and license eligible required. LMSW, LMHC, LMFT, LCAT, or LCSW preferred.
  • Certified Therapeutic Crisis Intervention Trainer or ability to become certified within the first 6 months of employment
  • Experience :

  • 2 years of experience including supervisory experience. Experience with adolescent population preferred.
  • Skills :

  • Creative problem solving.
  • Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
