Job Description
We are seeking a Hematology / Oncology Nurse Practitioner for a 16-day locum tenens assignment with our client in New York. This opportunity begins Jan 2, 2026, featuring day shifts from 8a-6p, four days per week Monday through Friday. The role is based in an ambulatory heme malignancy department, focusing on the assessment and management of patients with cancer and related conditions.

Responsibilities and Duties
Assess, diagnose, and monitor patients with all types of cancer and other benign and malignant tumors or diseasesPromote health and disease prevention within the scope of practice under physician supervisionPerform history and physical exams, including pelvic exams as indicatedOrder and interpret diagnostic tests and therapeutic modalities, limited to documented training and experienceImplement therapeutic interventions for specific conditions when appropriateAdminister and prescribe chemotherapy / biotherapy, with proof of recent clinical competenceConduct arterial puncture and blood gas samplingPerform debridement and general care for superficial wounds and minor superficial surgical proceduresIncise and drain superficial abscessesInsert and remove non-weighted nasogastric and oro-gastric tubesComplete death certificate protocols as neededRemove central venous cathetersAdditional Information
Must hold a current NY nurse practitioner licenseRequired board certifications : Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certification (AGACNP-BC), Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Certification (AGPCNP-BC), Adult Nurse Practitioner Certification (ANP-BC), or Family Nurse Practitioner Certification (FNP)Required certifications : Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)Must demonstrate recent competence in administering chemotherapy / biotherapy, with at least 10 administrations in the past 12 monthsOrientation is scheduled for Jan 2, 2026, with clinical duties commencing Jan 5, 2026Benefits
