Senior Security Engineer
Contract to hire opportunity with SOC's client to work onsite in Washington D.C.
- Candidates must be a U.S. citizen or green card holder who has resided in the U.S. for at least 3 years and have the ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
Senior Security Engineer to support the Client's Cybersecurity mission by joining a dedicated team of cybersecurity professionals who collaborate, cooperate, and facilitate maintaining and enhancing the security posture of information systems and infrastructure. These information systems and infrastructure support the client’s mission of managing and maintaining critical infrastructure.
Top Qualifications, Skills, Experience or Certifications :
9 years in Cybersecurity or related Information Technology fields, Bachelors and nine (8) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experienceExperience working with Endpoint protection management solutionsNetwork+, Security+, SSCP, GISF, ISACA Cybersecurity Fundamentals, or similar technical certificationProven understanding of Federal Cybersecurity requirements (i.e. FISMA, NIST 800 series, etc)Excellent communications skills with the capacity to describe endpoint security concepts to unacquainted individualsExceptional ability to collaborate and coordinate with cross-functional teamsJob Role Specific Requirements :
Engage with Federal Leadership and counterparts to implement endpoint protection profile changes to address external threats, and enforce security requirementsCoordinate with application administrators and infrastructure administrators and engineers to troubleshoot issues associated with endpoint protection softwareSupport integration of endpoint security data with security log aggregation solutions, to include security information event management toolsParticipate in declared cybersecurity incident handling activities when requestedKeep current regarding latest threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices related to endpoint securityWork Cyber related security operations ITSM (ServiceNow) assigned tickets to completionParticipate in relevant Cybersecurity and Security Operations (SecOps) meetingsCollaborate on and provide feedback to cybersecurity solutions that enhance security posturePreferred skills and qualifications :
Familiarity and comprehensive foundational understanding of application and technology stacks, cloud-based systems, operating systems, databases, networking, firewalls, Data Loss Prevention, Endpoint Security Software, Network Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems (IDS / IPS) and host-based IDS and IPS and general cyber security best practices and industry standardsEmployment Prerequisites
