Job Details :

Work 12-hour shifts : 7 : 00 AM to 7 : 30 PM or 7 : 00 PM to 7 : 30 AM with 30-minute lunch break

Weekend requirement : every other weekend (nights include Friday / Saturday / Sunday, days include Saturday / Sunday)

Travel experience required

Patient ratios of 1 : 5-6 (1 : 4 if COVID patients)

Care for patients with infectious diseases including isolation, COVID, MRSA, C-Diff

All 18 beds are private rooms due to infectious disease protocols

Strong knowledge required in Med-Surg, infectious diseases, and isolation precautions

BLS (AHA) certification required

BSN degree not required

No cardiac drips - may titrate Heparin and typical Med-Surg IV medications and antibiotics

Remote telemetry monitoring from 3rd floor - RNs do not read or interpret strips

May care for patients on CPAP, BiPAP, or high flow oxygen managed by respiratory therapy

First to float to other Med-Surg units when needed

Royal blue scrubs required - scrub jackets must be royal blue if worn, no hoodies or sweatshirts

EPIC charting system

2-day orientation : 1 day EPIC training, 1 day floor orientation with preceptor

Holiday work may be required based on unit needs

Subject to call-off for low census depending on contract terms

This medical center operates a specialized 18-bed infectious disease and medical-surgical unit featuring all private rooms to accommodate isolation protocols. The facility maintains 24 / 7 charge nurse coverage and employs comprehensive safety measures for infectious disease management. The unit is equipped with remote telemetry monitoring and respiratory therapy support, providing a controlled environment for patients requiring isolation precautions and specialized infectious disease care.
