Ophthalmic Tech / Optometric Tech
Responsibilities
- Performs basic to complex diagnostic tests and visual screenings including visual acuity, refraction, lensometry, applanation, visual field, OCT, IOL master, and fundus imaging.
- Keeps up with the flow of operational needs to ensure the best and timely care for patients - manages phone calls and messages efficiently, checks EHR and email regularly, handles prior authorizations and refills, schedules appointments and effectively triages phone calls.
- Organizes and prepares exam rooms and maintains a clean, safe, and well stocked environment.
- Inventories and orders contact lenses and surgical kits
- Cleans and calibrates instruments and equipment
- Provides patient education on a wide variety of ocular health issues.
Key Qualifications & Characteristics
IJCAHPO certification preferredHigh school diploma or equivalent required2 + years of related experience in ophthalmologyExcellent interpersonal and phone skillsAbility to evaluate and process urgent situations and maintain composure while meeting patient needs with empathy and concernAbility to work in a team environment and plan, organize and time manage daily dutiesPerks & Benefits of Madison Medical
