We are currently looking for a Senior Structural Engineering Project Management Specialist to spearhead the assessment, remediation, and execution of structural improvement projects within our senior housing and wellness portfolio. This role will serve as a pivotal technical resource to evaluate and resolve challenges such as structural settlement, façade deterioration, balcony deficiencies, and other failures threatening the integrity of our buildings. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of concrete, steel, and wood-frame construction and work closely with internal teams, external consultants, and operating partners to develop and implement strategic repair programs. Additionally, this position will act as an escalation point for structural risks identified during acquisition due diligence and assist in resolving latent defects in newly acquired buildings after the closing.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning and management of structural capital projects, including :
• Repair or replacement of balconies and cantilevered elements.
• Investigation of structural settlements and foundation remediation.
• Repairs for structural façades involving cracking, displacement, delamination, masonry failure, or compromised structural support systems.
• Reinforcement of roof structures or framing modifications to accommodate new loads or repairs.
• Addressing structural elements affected by prolonged water intrusion or improper detailing.
• Conduct site evaluations, collaborating with internal teams to diagnose underlying structural challenges and create practical, code-compliant repair strategies.
• Manage external structural and geotechnical engineering firms, overseeing investigations, reviewing outcomes, and guiding design solutions.
• Serve as a technical reviewer for PCA reports and other due diligence materials, assessing structural risks and informing acquisition decisions.
• Coordinate and manage the resolution of structural issues post-acquisition in newly constructed buildings, fostering constructive collaboration with developers, general contractors, and consultants to plan and implement necessary corrections.
• Collaborate with Capital Planning and Redevelopment teams to align structural repairs with broader asset strategies and ongoing projects.
• Provide oversight during design, bidding, and construction phases to ensure adherence to repair scope, schedule, and quality expectations.
• Act as a resource for internal stakeholders and property teams when structural deficiencies arise or when third-party expertise is required.
• Maintain rigorous documentation practices to support internal reporting, risk assessment, and future planning.
