Summary

The Gastroenterology Technician I (GT I) performs a variety of activities that support the nursing and medical staff of the GI Lab, which includes preparing supplies, equipment, and room for procedures; handling of specimen and cleaning / disinfecting scopes and other equipment according to standards; and troubleshooting equipment appropriately. The GT I demonstrates personal and professional effectiveness.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education : High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Certifications : a) Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association (AHA) or Red Cross; b) Certificate : Other certificates as required by unit / service.
  • Work Experience : One (1) year of patient care experience.

Special Requirements

  • Communication Skills : Above Average Verbal (Heavy Public Contact).
  • Other Skills : Medical Terms, PC.
  • Work Schedule : Weekends, Holidays, Flexible, Overtime, On Call.
