Overview of BLOC :
We are an inner-city ministry that lives and works in the neighborhoods we serve. Our mission exists to build relationships with our neighbors and share hope in brokenness. We target neighborhoods that are underserved. We have a staff size of about 70 where we have after school programs, a sports performance center, houses for women in sex trafficking, men and women transitional homes, two coffee shops, screen printing, equine assisted learning, an immigrant welcome center, and other forms of ministry to love our neighbors.
Summary :
The Development Coordinator is responsible for coordinating fundraising initiatives and donor relations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and confidentiality. The position is integral in daily processing of gifts, timely distribution of thank you letters, ensuring accurate donor data, and enhancing the donor relationship. The Development Coordinator also provides general support to the development and ministry team as needed. Must have a strong and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
Responsibilities :
Donor Development Support
Process daily contributions in the donor relationship system and generate accurate bank deposits.
Serve as the lead Bloomerang administrator and subject matter expert for donor reporting and analysis.
Research grant opportunities and assist with restricted grant tracking.
Support the management of targeted appeals and major giving campaigns including designated funds for ministry team members.
Provide accurate and timely donor communications including acknowledgements and annual giving statements.
Safeguard donor records integrity and confidentiality.
Update addresses, names and other relevant donor information in a timely manner. Collaborate with accounting to ensure any discrepancies or unrecognized gifts are investigated and resolved quickly.
Ministry Sustainment
Collect the mail daily and distribute.
Update support raising staff forms.
Assist with special projects as needed.
Provide research and decision support analysis.
Participate in weekly staff meetings and team meetings. Some weekends and evenings.
Engage in team prayer and staff devotionals.
Qualifications :
Committed Christian with a heart for ministry.
Strong attention to detail, well-organized, high integrity, a strong team player and resourceful.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proven adaptability and problem-solving ability.
Knowledge of donor relationship processes and systems.
Proficient in Google and Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant office software.
Education :
BS or BA degree in business administration, marketing, or related area a plus.
Experience :
One to three years related experience in fundraising is preferred. A minimum of three years of related office experience is required.
