Pipe Welding Field Supervisor

MIELKE Mechanical, Inc. is currently searching for a full-time Pipe Welding Field Supervisor to join their team in Tampa, Florida. In this role, you will be responsible for the coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of assigned projects ensuring consistency with our company's strategy, commitments, and goals.

- Pay: $38 – $48/hour, offer dependent on experience

- 8-hour shift
The right candidate will have:
- 6 years previous welding experience preferred
- 5 years previous commercial construction experience preferred
- 5 years supervisory experience preferred
- Must be able to pass a 2” SCH 160 SMAW 6G 6010/7018 welding test
- Ability to travel to job sites throughout the US and spend multiple weeks onsite as required to complete projects
- Previous experience that required field work including work normally performed by Pipefitters, Pipefitter Welders, Refrigeration Mechanics, Sprinkler Fitters, Plumbers and Millwrights
- Demonstrates strong knowledge of industrial/commercial mechanical construction manner of working
- Ability to communicate clearly verbally, in handwriting, and electronically
- Strong organizational and planning skills with ability to work under stressful conditions and meet deadlines.
- Read and understand both specifications and blueprints.
- Recognize safety hazards and have working knowledge of proper safety procedures required.
- Lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to climb and maintain balance on high ladders and scaffolds, as well as stand, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
Our Pipe Welding Field Supervisor will:
- Be responsible for the success of the project they are managing including safety of the jobsite and employees, customer and employee satisfaction, project profitability (measuring man hours), and performance of their duties (SIP, Material Handling, Organization, etc.)
- Run single large, complex projects or multiple smaller projects
- Serve as the primary on-site Safety representative for all activities and all employees working on assigned projects.
- Ensure that all job sites are organized, including layout of materials, protection of materials from theft and damage, and return of excess materials to vendors.
- For each project, review and understand the contract and scope of work. Comprehend scope drawings and recognize changes. Ensure workmanship and control quality on assigned projects by meeting or exceeding industry standards. Assist in compiling change orders and submitting them to the Project Manager. Review submittals and ensure their coherence to the contract.
- Effectively communicates, both written and orally with the field crew, the office, vendors, and the client. Manages customer and employee relationships to ensure their satisfaction with the assigned project.
- Ensure appropriate planning by creating staffing plans aligned with budgets. Completes four weeks look ahead for manpower, equipment and material and setting weekly goals for the crew.
- Use Fieldease to track employee time and document tardy and absences.
