Our team is looking for a talented and driven Business Intelligence Developer to enhance our capabilities. The ideal match for this role will own creating, evolving, and maintaining our BI tools. You will empower our business to make more informed decisions by leveraging advanced data analytics, compelling data visualization, and robust data modeling techniques. You will be instrumental in transforming data into insights that drive our business strategies and objectives.

The BI Developer plays a critical role in the company. First, we help the business succeed by delivering IT solutions that align with business requirements that drive tactical and strategic decisions. The BI Developer enhances business efficiency and productivity by providing the most relevant and current data for decision-making processes. The BI Developer will partner with diverse business teams to understand and analyze the nature of a proposed business problem or project, define how it relates to similar systems and processes within the BI environment and build the end solution. This can include build of the functional and technical specifications as well as the development, testing, training, and support of the solution. The BI Developer has a well-rounded skillset to support the technologies, data and applications used in the BI space. Key customers include Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Customer Service, Pricing, Finance, Mill Finance, Mill Operations, Human Resources and Senior Leadership. Qualifications

Key Accountabilities:

• Collaborate closely with stakeholders to understand their data needs and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Analyze complex business requirements, translate, and deliver them as IT solutions (both commercial and internally developed)
• Work independently or in a team while applying knowledge of multiple technologies and structured design methodologies toward effective business solutions
• Design, development, support, and maintenance of BI Solutions, including infrastructure and integration with databases, data lakes and data warehouses
• Build and maintain data models to ensure the accuracy and relevancy of the data
• Oversee data extraction, transformation, and loading from various sources into a usable form for business analysis
• Develop dashboards, visualizations, and reports that present complex data in essential fashion to help stakeholders easily grasp important trends and insights using tools such as IBM Cognos, Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft SSRS, and Python reporting
• Promote the growth and use of Power BI Service and the cloud platform
• Manage the application lifecycle of IT solutions and processes with a focus on simplicity, reliability, and reusability
• Support BI solutions availability, reliability, and performance in a 24x7x365 environment
• Provide ongoing support and training to users on BI tools and data analytics
• Perform regular maintenance and updates to existing BI solutions to ensure vendor supportability and take advantage of new functionality
• Stay abreast of the latest trends and technologies in BI, data analytics, and data visualization to help improve our BI capabilities

Minimum Required Skills:

• Initiative-taking with the ability to work independently and an eagerness to learn new applications and technologies
• Ability to interact with diverse groups of people from across the company to build constructive networks/relationships and develop solutions to meet business needs
• Versatile problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to translate business requirements into attainable IT solutions
  Solid teamwork, organizational, and communication (both oral and written) skills
• Ability to manage multiple time sensitive, complex projects and issues simultaneously
• Technical understanding of software development tools, testing methodologies, application, and database performance
• Strong Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Server, Microsoft Azure Cloud and Microsoft Office skills
• Understanding of Data Warehouse Star schema design concepts and best practices
• 3+ years of development experience with MS SQL Server object creation including T-SQL language
• 3+ years of development experience with at least two of the following: MS Power BI Service Data visualizations, MS SQL Server Reporting Services, MS SQL Server Analysis Services, IBM Cognos reports and package/data module development, ETL technologies (Informatica, Boomi, SSIS, ADF)

Personal qualities

Preferred Skills:

• 1-3+ years working with IBM Cognos Analytics
• 1-3+ years working with IBM Cognos Administration
• 1-3+ years working in Cloud technology platforms like AWS, Azure, Google Cloud
• 1-3+ years of development experience with data ingestion, integration, analysis, and presentation working within a Cloud Data Lake environment using Azure Data Factory, Snowflake and Power BI technologies
• 1-3+ years of development experience with Advanced DAX, Python Analytics
• 1-3+ years of BI tools and software such as Power BI, Tableau, Qlik
• 1-3+ years of Azure DevOps
• Certification in Microsoft Cloud, BI technologies, or Data Analytics

Travel: 10-25% depending on location
