Qualifications
- Must be available 24 hours per day when on call
- Must be able to provide proof of rabies vaccinations
- Must live within 10 miles of Westport, MA
- Must have a background in wildlife rehabilitation, veterinary care, or animal law enforcement
- Familiarity with animal behavior and control laws
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with proficiency in report preparation
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
Responsibilities
Ability to work in various environments, confined spaces and various weather conditionsCatching and transporting deceased animals, and strays to veterinary offices for euthanasiaAbility to work independently and build positive relationships with the public and veterinary communityDemonstrated ability to handle sensitive and traumatic situations involving harmed or distressed animals with integrity, compassion, and professionalismCleaning and disinfecting Animal Control vehiclesCleaning and maintaining the Animal Control Facility, including runs and cagesEducating the public on the welfare of pets and importance of canine licensesSchedule :
Part-time with the possibility of overnights as neededOn call (7 days over 2 weeks)Week 1 : On call for 2 days; Week 2 : On call for 5 daysNo more than 20 hours per weekPay :
