Job Summary :
The Solutions Engineer is responsible for the design and implementation of software and applications. This role manages the software lifecycle, from inception to retirement, and works with IT leaders, business line representatives or Software Governance to determine, implement, test and deploy the firm’s software applications. Additionally, the Solutions Engineer provides guidance for continual improvement on operational IT projects.
Job Duties :
- Serves as project leader for software onboarding projects and adheres to Project Management Office standards and procedures
- Researches technical implementation details to support onboarding activities for new software and systems
- Collaborates on the development of software transition plans including migration tasks in support of firm expansion projects
- Collaborates with Software Operations Engineers for operational handoff and escalated troubleshooting
- Performs testing and development of non-routine fixes
- Manages custom departmental applications and third-party software solutions, including maintaining and managing vendor relationships
- Creates system documentation in an accurate and timely manner to ensure ongoing software and system support
- Escalates critical issues to firm and department Leadership, as appropriate
- Assists with Level 3 support for business line applications as needed
- Consults and coordinates application upgrades for software and systems to maintain N-1 posture
- Coordinates with Infrastructure team for server lease replacements that impact software and systems ensuring minimal user disruption
- Provides technical / back-up support for other systems, software and other team responsibilities / tasks, as needed
- Provides support and backup coverage for ITAM roles as needed
- Other duties as required
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Education :
High School Diploma / GED, requiredBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, preferredExperience :
Three (3) or more years of experience in technical software implementation planning, required ORTwo (2) or more years of previous Software Operations Engineer experience, requiredExperience with serving as a technical support role, preferredExperience with software development methodologies, preferredExperience with technical writing and documentation, preferredExperience with ITIL processes, preferredExperience with ITAM processes, preferredLicense / Certifications :
Certifications in Microsoft MTA / MCSD, preferredSoftware :
Two (2) or more years of experience with developing applications utilizing , , Powershell and / or C#, preferredExperience with one (1) or more of the following products, preferred : Microsoft Visual Studio Microsoft SQL ServerOther Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :

National Range : $85,000 - $95,000
Maryland Range : $85,000 - $95,000
NYC / Long Island / Westchester Range : $85,000 - $95,000
